Have you tried online shopping? no, not those you buy through a seller on instagram. I mean a real online shopping website. Well, i've been going cray cray on online shopping lately, and it probably be useful if i can give you my reviews and tips on shopping at my most visited websites. There are tons of other online shopping websites in Indonesia but these are my most favorite ones, so here goes..
MAKE SURE THEY ARE LEGITIMATE WEBSITE/SELLER
I personally prefer buying anything online through a legitimate website like zalora, lazada, luxola. why? because if anything happened to the product you buy (damaged on the shipping, defect, wrong size) you can simply pack and send them back to the seller/website. Most of the time the website does have a physical office anyway so i wouldn't be worried. Each website's mentioned earlier have different terms and condition on returning the product so do make sure first so you won't get disappointed.
WHAT TO BUY
ZALORA specializes in fashion. I personally love zalora's selection of brands and their own private brand such as: zalora, zalora basics and ezra are worth to try. The prices are not that cheap tho, unless they are having a sale which in this case would be held every month *yay*. Oh and that's the thing! when they do have a sale, they really discount the price. I noticed this when i've been eyeing on this cute watch but i procrastinated on buying them since i don't think i need it now. then i got an e-mail few days later that they currently having a great sale so i check on that watch and they DO lower the price, A LOT. They also will frequently send you discount vouchers from time to time.
LAZADA sells...probably anything you need, literally. Lazada is a site that provides sellers (independent stores like those you seen on ITC) to sell their product on the website and lazada is the company who managed the orders. You can buy ANYTHING. You name it, gadgets, smartphones, beauty products, fashion items, home appliances, kitchen appliances, baby products, even furniture!
I mostly buying electronics through this website because they often offers crazy discount.
But please be a smart buyer when you are shopping trough this website since the sellers are not only the lazada itself, i suggest you to check the seller first before ordering. There will be 5 exact same products with various prices and sellers on the website. If the seller was lazada itself they can offer you to pay on the delivery (COD = Cash On Delivery) by a certain minimum purchase which is a plus.
LUXOLA specializes in beauty products. They sell mostly imported stuff that doesn't have a physical counter in Jakarta. I visited this website to browse discounted make up or make up tools such as beauty blender, real technique brushes and sponge. They initially have a wide variety of brands but i think recently they don't sell as much as they used to. The plus is you can make sure the authenticity of the product compared to buying from sellers on instagram. This doesn't mean that those sellers on instagram are not authentic but there's always one out of ten people who sells fake product.
SHOPPING EXPERIENCE
ZALORA
Website : Really easy to use, but the only downside would be the bags section. They don't put the size measurement. I mean, bags sizes can be pretty deceiving right? you just cannot rely on the photos when it comes to online shopping. They also give discount voucher on your first shopping for IDR 75K with minimum purchase.
Delivery time : FAST!
Quality : I only buy zalora's private brands so far but they're always come in a great condition and packaging.
Customer Service : great so far, they are really helpful.
LAZADA
Website : It will sometimes confuse you with so many options/buttons to choose but you'll get used to it. They also offers 3 months or 6 months installment facility with a certain minimum purchase on electronics. But as i said before please make sure you choose the right seller first because each sellers have a rating (3/5 or 5/5) where to see them? you can simply look to the picture above, each product have stars rating so the more stars the seller earned supposedly they are classified as a trusted seller in terms of the authenticity of the product or the delivery time or even the packaging. Just like zalora, they also offer you a discount voucher on your first purchase with a certain minimum order.
Delivery Time: Depends on the seller. If the seller is Lazada itself most of the time they will ship the day after your payment confirmation. You will get notified on each product process status.
Quality : This would also depends, but so far i never get disappointed with the product i received.
Customer Service: No, they didn't provide pop-up chat box like Zalora does, but you can leave an email if you wanted to ask something.
LUXOLA
Delivery Time : Fast. But this happened to me a while ago, when i saw the confirmation e-mail that they would send the product 5 days after my payment, i immediately ask whether they can speed up my order since i live around Jakarta and that would be ridiculous right? why would they need 5 days to ship them? but after i complaint about it, my order arrived the next day. I mean..what's wrong with them?
Quality : Great!
Customer Service: They are really helpful on making sure i am satisfied with the solution they offered.
So those are my tips and reviews on online shopping, hope this would helps. I probably gonna make a part 2 of this topic if i tried other websites :)
